Wombat is a small rural school located in the South West Slopes region of New South Wales. It is part of a village that relies on surrounding primary production including wheat, sheep and stonefruit. The school was established in 1868 and has always been a one or two teacher school maintaining strong community ties and a high profile in the local area. Students attending the school are drawn from the local village, surrounding properties and neighbouring towns.
